About the map

These are published reference channels, not live status. Frequencies and usage can change, reception varies, and this map must not be used for flight planning or navigation.

Sources: NATS AIS UK AIP (3 September 2026), NATS VFR directory and regional frequency cards (August–September 2026), and OurAirports Public Domain data for remaining airfields and navigation aids. VFR site status is dated reference information; some locations have no published channel. Basemap: OpenFreeMap with OpenStreetMap contributors. See also the UK military map.

What’s this? — Sectors & vertical limits
Control sector
An area of airspace handled by a control team. Published sectors can be combined or split; a listed channel is not proof of current use.
FL — flight level
A pressure-based level using the standard 1013.25 hPa setting. FL100 represents 10,000 feet on that setting, not necessarily 10,000 feet above sea level or the ground.
SFC & MSL
SFC means surface. A height referenced to SFC is above the surface; MSL means mean sea level. They are different reference points.

Airspace limits use published units: SFC is above the surface, MSL is above mean sea level and FL is a pressure-based flight level. Boundaries do not show live activation.

Runway markers show published points, not runway footprints. Navigation aids are not voice channels. Obstacle coverage is the Area 1 dataset, not a complete terrain model.

Aerodrome obstacle editions: EGBP (2026-08-06), EGHF (2026-09-03), EGJB (2026-07-09), EGKB (2026-09-03), EGLL (2026-09-03), EGMC (2026-08-06), EGNM (2026-09-03), EGPI (2026-09-03), EGPL (2026-08-06), EGPR (2026-08-06), EGSS (2026-09-03), EGTE (2026-09-03). Overlapping national and aerodrome surveys can show the same obstacle more than once.

See the NATS aerodrome catalogue for coverage. Terrain files, where available, are requested from the aerodrome operator; they are not included here.

For source editions and the data-quality non-compliance report, see NATS digital datasets. These tools are for enthusiasts, not flight planning or navigation.

Standard route lookup (32,374 entries)

Search UK and Ireland standard routes by airport, entry/exit point, airway or waypoint. These are reference routes, not a live flight plan or an aircraft’s confirmed track.

What’s this? — Route abbreviations
SID & STAR
Standard Instrument Departure and Standard Instrument Arrival: published routes linking an airport with the en-route network. These table entries name procedures; they do not draw them.
Min FL & Max FL
The route entry's published lower and upper flight levels. FL255 means 25,500 feet on the standard pressure setting, not height above the ground.
DCT
Direct: a route segment between the named points rather than along a named airway.
FRA
Free Route Airspace: routes may be planned between designated entry and exit points, via intermediate points where needed, subject to airspace availability and restrictions.
From / entry & To / exit
The endpoints of the published route entry. They may be airports or named points, not necessarily a flight's departure and destination.
