The BCD160DN does not use Sentinel.

Uniden lists BCDx60DN SS as the PC programming software for the BCD160DN. That is why ScanLocal supplies .bcd160dn_ss, rather than renaming a spreadsheet or sending an incompatible .hpe file.

The handheld scanner supports conventional analogue reception plus DMR and NXDN decoding. Because public assignment data does not reliably identify every exact digital protocol or access code, channels are supplied for discovery using the scanner’s flexible search settings.

BCD160DN questions

Is this a Sentinel file for the BCD160DN?

No. The BCD160DN uses Uniden BCDx60DN SS. Your download is supplied in the model's native .bcd160dn_ss setting-file format, not as a Sentinel .hpe file.

How many frequencies can the file contain?

The scanner has ten banks of 100 channels. When more than 1,000 compatible results are available, the nearest 1,000 are included.

Will every frequency be active?

No. WTR, shared-channel and airport data identify possible listening channels, but not every frequency transmits continuously. The file is a practical discovery list.

Does the file map trunked radio systems?

No. The download contains conventional discovery channels. It does not map or follow trunked conversations as a complete system.
