Read the scanner and save its current programming first.

ARC125 uses its CSV Mapper as a staging grid. The tested workflow copies cells from that window into the main memory editor before the scanner is programmed.

1Install or update ARC125 from BuTel's official product or demo-download page.
2Connect the scanner, read its current memories into ARC125 and save an untouched native backup.
3In ARC125, use Help → Open manual if the CSV Mapper or scanner connection controls differ from the wording shown here.

Important: The generated file is analogue-only and contains no more than 500 memories across ten banks. Digital-only assignments are excluded before generation.

Move each populated bank from CSV Mapper into the main editor.

  1. 1

    Open CSV Mapper

In ARC125 choose File → Import → Import CSV File. ARC125 opens a separate window titled CSV Mapper.

  2. 2

    Open the supplied CSV

In CSV Mapper choose File → Open CSV File and select the downloaded ScanLocal filename ending -arc125.csv.

  3. 3

    Find the first populated bank

The generated records are arranged as ten banks of 50 memories. Start with the populated rows for Bank 1 and leave the empty padding rows unchanged.

  4. 4

    Copy from Frequency onwards

Select only the populated cells from the Frequency column onwards through the supplied name and mode fields. Do not include the record, bank or slot columns, then choose Copy or press Ctrl+C.

  5. 5

Paste into the matching ARC125 bank

Return to the main ARC125 editor, open Bank 1, click the first intended Frequency cell and paste with Ctrl+V. The frequency, alpha tag and AM/FM mode should fill adjacent columns.

  6. 6

    Repeat for later banks

Copy and paste each later populated group into the same numbered ARC125 bank, in blocks of no more than 50 memories.

  7. 7

    Review and upload

Check several frequencies, names and modes, confirm the destination memories are correct, then use ARC125's scanner upload function and wait for it to finish before disconnecting.

Check the pasted columns and bank positions before upload.

Frequency first

The first pasted value appears in ARC125's Frequency column, not in a bank, slot or unrelated option column.

Banks stay aligned

No bank contains more than 50 supplied memories and later groups begin in the corresponding numbered bank.

Analogue modes

The supplied populated rows show AM or FM. ARC125-specific option fields not established by the source data remain available for your review.

Restore your backup: Open the untouched ARC125 backup you saved before importing and upload that known-good configuration to restore the scanner. The supplied CSV is not the rollback file.

If the CSV opens but does not move into the scanner editor.

Paste is unavailable

CSV Mapper is only the staging window. Copy the wanted cells, return to ARC125's main memory editor, click its first intended Frequency cell and paste there.

Values land in the wrong columns

Undo the paste and repeat it starting at Frequency in both windows. Do not copy the record, bank or slot columns from CSV Mapper.

More than 50 rows enter one bank

Undo that block and copy one generated bank at a time. Each ARC125 bank holds 50 memories.

The scanner connection fails

Reconnect the USB cable, close other scanner software, confirm the correct driver and port, then follow ARC125's bundled manual through Help → Open manual.

A fixed ARC125 staging CSV with receiver-safe defaults.

The file contains ARC125's CSV identification line, ten groups of 50 memory records and the trailing empty records seen in a known-good ARC125 export. Populated rows carry a zero-padded MHz frequency, an ASCII-safe 16-character alpha tag and AM or FM mode.

Unknown ARC125 option fields are left blank. The generated file uses only fields verified by the import test, leaving scanner-specific choices for review before upload.

Questions

Why can I open the CSV but not send it directly?

ARC125 documents CSV Mapper as a staging window. Copy the wanted cells from that grid into the main memory editor before using the scanner upload function.

Why is this not an .rsf file?

ARC125 marks its native RSF structure as proprietary and BuTel does not publish that format specification. ScanLocal uses the documented CSV import and clipboard workflow instead.

Which Ofcom assignments are included?

Every selected assignment within the supported scanner receive bands is eligible except rows confirmed as digital-only. Analogue, mode-not-stated and data/other rows remain available as tuning entries.

How many memories can it contain?

The generated ARC125 file contains up to 500 populated memories arranged as ten banks of 50. Unused records remain blank.
